Link Personnel Screening

Business Issues

Security vetting (screening) requires completing an application form for each candidate including detailed career and address history for a ten year period while adhering to strict standards set by the British Standards Institute.

Previous Procedures

Forms were typed, printed then sent by hand to each employer requiring confirmation of all employment dates and personal references were sent a form they were required to sign confirming the candidates' whereabouts during any holidays or periods of education and unemployment. This was a long and labour intensive process, hindered by the volume of documents being sent and awaiting return.

Prior to developing their bespoke solution, this process required approximately eight hours of hands-on attention from screeners and a mountain of paperwork

After analysing their processes, we worked with them to create automated customized forms which were able to be sent by fax, email or post at the click of a button. Adding a live task manager to view all sent references awaiting return and the current status of each candidates' screening status, we were able to eliminate their reliance on paper lists and spreadsheets and reduce the number of hours spent on each screening as well as for the first time, enable the managers to see the live status of each candidate and individual references.

Links customers were able to call and be informed immediately of the status of their employees screening status and provide additional information as required

Making Their Job Easier

We also developed a separate portable application which employers could take on-site and use to let their staff enter their own details into the screening system. Utilizing an easy to use online form that ensured that staff were entering all required information themselves - eliminating the common problem of incomplete applications and gaps in their employment history.
